I recently encountered two new technologies that help people connect.
Klaxoon
The first, called Klaxoon, comes from a company of the same name.
Klaxoon simplifies the way people learn and share ideas. They have two solutions. One is cloud-based and can facilitate up to 1,000 people. The other, which works well for those situations where internet access is limited or unavailable, uses the KlaxoonBox, which measures 4.76″ x 4.76″ x 1.92”.
I was able to get a session with the company from its corporate office in Rennes, France to my office in Orlando, Florida over a simple Internet connection. I didn’t have to download any special software (a nice touch in today’s security-sensitive world), and was able to share information and comments as if we were in the same room. You can use this technology to conduct polls, use gaming situations to enhance interaction, and have a record of all ideas shared via text, pictures and video.
This is a great tool to experience if you need to instruct, demonstrate new ideas, or get information from a group of people. One of the advantages of Klaxoon is the ability for people to submit ideas anonymously. This can help introverts or others who have ideas that are not popular share without fear of recrimination. This can bring out great ideas when they might have been withheld previously.
