When I was a kid, I remember discovering a device that had recently hit the market called the audio cassette recorder (I know, I’m dating myself here!). It was amazing that we could capture the power of the human voice at a very low cost and listen over and over.
I remember using that to send cassette messages to my grandpa through the mail. I would even hold the microphone near our LP record player to have a music intro! It was not very professional, or easy to listen to, but grandpa said he liked it! (He was very kind)
