Internet access is critical for today’s road warriors. It is as essential to today’s business traveler as electricity, running water and flush toilets!
Yet, this issue remains a sore spot for many travelers when they finally get to the hotel and they are surprised that the hotel either has very slow access and/or a high fee attached on top of the room stay — with accompanying taxes on the high Wi-Fi fee.
Sadly, U.S. hotels do not rank well. According to a survey conducted by Hotel Chatter, the U.S. is in the bottom 21 percent for Wi-Fi speed in hotels worldwide.
“High-speed access” is a term that is thrown around a lot, but seldom with a quantifiable explanation. In my own experience, I’ve heard the term used often by hotel personnel during check-in or when checking on Internet access. Now there is a way you can find out more about Wi-Fi before you book a given property.
