It is a trend throughout history that when something new appears—especially technology—it makes a big splash.
Everyone says, “WOW.”
Then, over time, what once lived in the “WOW” category becomes commonplace and eventually required just to play the game.
Think of it as table stakes.
What once gave you a strong advantage—because you were early, or you knew how to use the technology—now feels… normal.
And worse?
Everyone else has it too.
And some might even be using it better than you.
Ouch.
This is not new.
It’s the pattern of human progress.
The key is staying relevant and understanding what’s new.
But that’s not enough.
Lots of people can tell you what’s new.
(Just read the news.)
The winners are the ones who tap into what’s new—or even what’s now commonplace—and figure out how to use it to solve real-world problems.
Relevance beats novelty. Every time.
Successful business leaders make problems smaller.
Easier to solve.
Cheaper to fix.
Faster to complete.
Your competitive advantage comes from staying current on what’s relevant—not just what’s new.
Technology stops being a competitive advantage the moment it becomes expected.
Relevance comes from applying what’s common in ways others are not.
You and I must solve real problems—profitably.
And those solutions must be compelling to people who are ready, willing, and able to pay for them.
The price must be affordable for them—and profitable for you.
Welcome to Planet Earth.
It works that way here.
So yes—AI is now the baseline.
That’s huge.
So why does that matter?
Because your “early adopter” advantage is closing—fast.
Differentiation now comes from how you think, not which tool you use.
Impact On You And Me As Stark Raving Entrepreneurs
Your audiences don’t win by learning every tool.
They win by learning:
How to ask better questions
How to discover what their audience truly wants
(Think trend queries using Deep Research in Gemini, Perplexity Labs, ChatGPT, Grok, and other LLMs)
How to structure their thinking
How to reuse insights across platforms
What should you change?
Change your language from:
“Learn this tool”
to
“Build your AI thinking system”
I love demonstrating how you can actually converse with AI to get real answers.
I recently did this for an audience of business professionals wrestling with thorny, high-stakes problems.
They were blown away by what came back from ChatGPT.
Yep. This AI thingy is pretty dog-gone amazing.
But remember:
You’re not selling tech.
You’re not selling workshops, classes, speeches, or delivery mechanisms.
You’re not even selling AI.
You’re selling clarity—in a world overflowing with chaos.
And boy-howdy… that world is hauling around a truckload of chaos right now.
When you sell clarity, you earn premium positioning.
That’s exactly what we’re doubling down on in our Stark Raving Entrepreneurs sessions in 2026.
