Relationship Marketing and The Benefits of New

There are a lot of benefits with updating and buying new. Technology is changing fast. Don’t settle for something that is out of date when, for a modest investment, you can have a much better functioning device that makes your life and business better.

Recently I purchased a new wall clock because my older one just stopped working. New batteries didn’t cut it. The new clock is outstanding! It was easy to set, had great instructions, even a phone number to call for help (I didn’t need it, but it was nice to have available for a “just in case” scenario).

Getting something new keeps life fresh and alive. This is much like it is with relationships. The thrill and fun of new experiences, renewed commitment to a relationship, and doing something different from what has been done before is what keeps a relationship alive.

Relationship Farming is like that. You invest in a relationship marketing in terms of the time, money and energy (TME) you spend on a person. If you get a “return” in the form of good feelings, good rapport, good possibilities for the future, then you continue. If a relationship becomes a way for one person to take more than they give, the relationship erodes and can turn negative. In business you need to see tangible results to keep a relationship going.

Your job as a Relationship Farmer is to continue to sow the seeds to keep the relationship going. This assumes that the relationship is worth it to both parties. One side can keep putting in TME only for a while if they don’t have some value coming back. Make it your job as a Relationship Farmer to continually provide value, help, and assistance to those who are important to you. Keep the relationship going with “new” on a regular basis. Find creative ways to provide pleasant surprises that bring value to others.

This is what Relationship Marketing is all about. It builds business and people.
