Business-Building Action by Terry Brock
Today we are swamped with information. Maybe you can relate to this. I enjoy reading and learning. I love the ability we have today to read lots of great information from many different places. In addition to that, YouTube and other sources provide abundant video and audio learning from some of the best brains from today and yesterday.
Yet we still can’t digest all of it– – –no matter how hard we try.
This is why we can easily be overwhelmed with all the good that is available. They can really be overwhelming when we try to keep up what is happening in today’s world.
In addition to that there are lots of offers available, and we just cannot process all of the offers. As you’re not able to handle all of the good offers, your prospects and customers and dealing with the same frustrations. This is part of the reason why we all need to learn a very valuable skill for today.
That skill is the art of saying “No!” until your tongue bleeds! Another way of putting this is you have to build very good filters. This applies in both the information you assimilate and in your selling.
It is not easy to do this. It requires a great deal of thinking in contemplation about what is right for you in your situation right now. It takes a lot of discipline to say no to wonderful offers and great articles that you can see on the Net.
Be sure to see the video that accompanies this for extra material you will LOVE! Invest 3:17 and you’ll get a smile and some important knowledge that can help you.
It also extends to building your business. You have to say no to certain prospects who are not right for you. Not everyone is going to be right for you in your business right now. Take control of your life by saying no to the wrong prospects. Grow your business by focusing on those who are the right fit for you.
Not everyone is going to be the right candidate for buying your products and services. You want to spend your time focusing on those people in those businesses who are right for you. The beauty of this is that it will give you more time to focus on the right people and the right opportunities. Not everybody is going to like what you have to offer. Not everyone is going to be in the market to buy. You don’t know what they’re going through. There is a lot wisdom to the old sales adage that selling is numbers game. Many salespeople have been helped knowing that it takes X number of no answers to get to the next yes.
Not everybody is even going to like you. Personalities are different. Sometimes you are going to encounter people who are reminded of a nasty ex-boss, obnoxious salesperson or miserable politician they knew years ago. You can’t help it. You didn’t do anything wrong. This is just reality.
The healthiest way to approach it is to grow some rhinoceros skin. Get tougher. Don’t let the jerks hold you back. Instead, maintain and consistently positive attitude and move forward continually.
Learning to say no can help you to live a much more enriched and full life. Do the hard work and think through what filters you need in place for your mind and your actions. Be willing to pay the price in terms of mental energy and time to have the filters establish better right for you..
You’ll find that learning to say no at the right time is one of the most positive things you can do for your life and to achieve your business success. By saying “NO!” emphatically to the wrong choices, you can enthusiastically say, “YES!” to to the right opportunities.
