Today I read a very interesting article in GigaOm. It said that workers who work on their own, on the Web and have flexible schedules are happier and therefore more productive.
This makes all the sense in the world. When employers give people the ability to work on their own time schedule, more can be accomplished. Many companies today are finding that having several days a month working at home can give knowledge workers (to coin Peter Drucker’s phrase) a chance to get some serious work done. With new technology like strong, high-speed bandwidth and Skype, you can get a lot done. [Disclosure – Skype has been a client of mine — and they are a fabulous company!]
